Musical lineup announced for May 7-9 Rayne Frog Festival
The schedule for musical entertainment at the upcoming 48th annual Rayne Frog Festival May 7-9 has been announced by Festival Chairman Jeremy Lavergne.
“Contracts have been signed and the varied line-up is set with an expanded list of musical attractions,” Lavergne said.
Entertainment will begin on Thursday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. with the Frog Festival Parade, a change introduced last year by the festival committee.
Concluding Thursday’s schedule is the opening ceremonies with introductions, followed by Louisiana Red, who will entertain the audience and provide popular musical favorites between 8-10 p.m. at the Frog Festival Pavilion.
Friday evening will see Payton Broussard take the stage at 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. to kick things off.
National recording artists will co-headline Friday’s entertainment. Cupid will be heard from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and chart-topping entertainer Gyth Rigdon will conclude the evening with a 10 p.m. show until midnight.
Musical entertainment will begin at noon on Saturday, May 9, and will include a full afternoon and evening of music of every style.
At noon, the Acadiana School of Arts and Mouton’s Music featuring young talents will perform until 2 p.m.
Greg Martinez will take the stage from 2:30 until 4 p.m.
Traditional “country-style” music will be featured when Wayne Singleton hits the stage at 4:30 p.m..
Blue Monday will begin at 6:30 p.m. providing their popular style until 8 p.m.
Zydeco artist Wayne Toups and ZydeCajun will turn up the volume at 8:30 p.m. with the Chee Weez wrapping up the 48th annual festival with a 10:30 to midnight performance.
