Rayne Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly announced that his office is investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred over a 24 hour period this weekend.
Residents were being evacuated and traffic was halted along Interstate 10 at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting Sunday, April 22, which occurred on Interstate 10 just west of Duson.
The body of a Crowley man who was last seen swimming in the Mermentau River Thursday afternoon has been recovered.
