The Crowley City Council has called for a special meeting to be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at 426 North Avenue F.

With one dissenting vote, the Acadia Parish Police Jury adopted a plan to fill the secretary-treasurer’s position vacated in February.
Kent Brown is IRF Rice Farmer of the Year

Kent Brown has been chosen as the 2017 Farmer of the Year by the International Rice Festival, according to Suzy Webb, festival president. This year’s festival dates are Oct. 19 through 22.
